Spanish shares lost on Thursday, with the benchmark Ibex-35 down 0.71 percent, or 76.2 points, to close at 10,699.60 points.
Of the 35 selected large companies, 25 lost in the day.
The insurance company Mapfre was down 2.98 percent, followed by the steel manufacturing corporation ArcelorMittal and stainless steel manufacturer group Acerinox that lost 2.77 percent and 2.42 percent respectively.
Spain's third largest bank Caixabank rose 1.15 percent, being the top gainer of the session. The pharmaceutical and chemical company Grifols gained 0.69 percent, and the motorways operator Abertis A was up 0.52 percent.
