Seoul shares ended lower on Wednesday.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) lost 11.70 points, or 0.49 percent, to settle at 2,357.53. Trading volume stood at 356.21 million shares worth 6.34 trillion won (5.5 billion U.S. dollars).

South Korea's currency finished at 1,144.0 won against the greenback, down 8.6 won from the previous close.
