Indian markets closed flat on negative note Wednesday after a rangebound trade due to lack of cues at global as well as domestic level.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 31,283.64, 13.89 points or 0.04 percent down compared to its previous close at 31,297.53.
