German shares lost on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index down 114.14 points, or 0.89 percent, to close at 12,691.81 points.
German industrial giant Thyssenkrupp lost the most among the blue chips, down by 2.49 percent, followed by German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom and German maker of sportswear and equipment Adidas, which lost 2.12 percent and 2.07 percent respectively.
Marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse Group and energy group RWE were the top two winners, rising 0.90 percent and 0.20 percent respectively. Personal-care company Beiersdorf lost 0.02 percent.
Deutsche Telekom was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 580.63 million euros (648.33 million U.S. dollars).
