German Shares Gain 0.40 pct Thursday-June 1
 

German stocks rose on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index up 49.86 points, or 0.40 percent, to close at 12,664.92 points.

Multinational chemical firm Linde won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.79 percent.

Automotive manufacturer BMW and Tire specialist Continental rose by 1.27 percent and 1.11 percent respectively.

German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom lost the most among the blue chips, falling 2.32 percent.

German industrial giant Thyssenkrupp and chemical and consumer goods company Henkel went down by 1.58 percent and 0.90 percent respectively.

Automotive manufacturer Daimler was the most-traded share, with a turnover of 261.64 million euros (293.53 million U.S. dollars).
