German stocks closed flat on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 16.38 points, or 0.13 percent, to close at 12,615.06 points.
Renal dialysis equipment supplier Fresenius Medical won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.68 percent. Energy group RWE and Pharmaceutical company Merck rose by 2.51 percent and 2.17 percent respectively.
Deutsche Bank lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 2.59 percent. German maker of sportswear and equipment Adidas and automotive manufacturer Volkswagen went down by 2.06 percent and 1.63 percent, respectively.
German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom was the most-traded share with a turnover of 341.06 million euros (382.70 million U.S. dollars).
