French shares edged up on Monday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.56 percent, or 29.63 points, to close at 5,295.75 points.
A total of 31 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
Multinational group in beauty L'Oreal increased 3.85 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French multinational dairy group Danone rose 2.90 percent and French international hotel group Accor gained 2.04 percent.
Multinational communication group Vivendi went down 0.78 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French vehicle producer Peugeot lost 0.55 percent while Luxury group LVMH edged down 0.35 percent.
