French shares lost on Wednesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 0.42 percent, or 22.31 points, to close at 5,283.63 points.
Of the 40 selected large companies, 29 lost in the day.
French industrial group MICHELIN (CGDE) was down 2.69 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French automotive supplier VALEO lost 2.49 percent. Car manufacturer RENAULT lost 2.17 percent.
French industrial group BOUYGUES rose 2.20 percent, the top gainer of the day. ENGIE S.A. gained 1.61 percent. VINCI was up 1.55 percent.
