British stocks rose on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.32 percent, or 23.82 points, to close at 7,543.77 points.

Paddy Power Betfair, an Irish bookmaker, soared 4.34 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. 3i Group and ConvaTec Group increased by 3.58 percent and 3.38 percent respectively.

The international private hospital group Mediclinic International was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.40 percent. The British media company ITV dropped 2.10 percent, while Persimmon, a British housebuilding company, fell 2.08 percent.
